Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

While we've been waving our West Coast flag high from the start, it's nice to see that others are beginning to realize that LA is the place to be. Following GQ's Abbot Kinney shout-out and Forbes's hipster salute to Silver Lake, New York Post is telling their own city to watch out, because Los Angeles is the future.

In the lengthy feature, NYP gives props to LA's improved public transit system (Rodeo Drive subway stop coming soon) and also shines a light on four of our favorite action-heavy 'hoods: Downtown, Venice, Mid-City West and Hollywood.

Key call-outs include DTLA's "Times Square-like entertainment district," Venice's burgeoning foodie scene, Mid-City West's Fairfax-Grove-Third St shopping trifecta and Hollywood's nightlife wonderland.
