Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Kicking things off with the time-honored web publishing tradition of compiling lots of lists and photo galleries, Time Out New York has officially established a West Coast outpost.
A cursory glance through the site's shopping content reveals that they've already covered lots of ground: in addition to style shots from Abbot Kinney, Studio City and Silver Lake, there are "best ofs" for women's and men's clothing, beauty products, lingerie, vintage and bookstores as well as a guide to shopping Melrose Avenue (which allows you to choose either the "edgy" or "luxury" route).
The appearance of Time Out LA also explains the disappearance of Style Section LA, which went on hiatus in May. From the looks of things, the role of Shopping & Style editor has been filed by Style Section's Erin Magner. Never mind, totally different Erins. Join us in welcoming Time Out to the wild, wacky world of Los Angeles journalism!
