BEVERLY BOULEVARD—Gai Gherardi, the colorful co-founder of l.a. eyeworks, sat down with LA, I'm Yours recently for a chat. She discussed the origins of the store (founded with her high school friend Barbara McReynolds), a winding history that involved helping draft-dodging men by fitting them with the wrong prescription glasses, manufacturing their own styles (including one frame named "The Beat") and opening up shop on Melrose in the '80s. MELROSE PLACE—Shop at the Chloé boutique on Melrose Place between today and Friday and a portion of the proceeds from your purchase will benefit cancer research charity Phase One Foundation. The boutique has partnered with celeb stylists and designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott on the initiative; each shopper that buys something during the week is also entered to win a free Chloé handbag.
