Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Last year, Mohawk General Store won the title of "Best New Store" in our city-wide Racked Awards, and since has made it onto our Indie 38 list and 38 Essential LA Shops map. The reason is simple: Mohawk offers a well-edited selection of great brands and browsers can buy items both small (like a tub of Aesop body balm) and large (such as mid-century modern furniture). This Saturday, the Silver Lake boutique is having an end-of-summer sale and it promises to be epic.
The discounts will include all the items currently listed for sale on Mohawk's site as well as additional clothes, accessories and decor items that never made it online—all will be more heavily discounted for the occasion. Labels include Wood Wood, Vena Cava, Something Else, A.P.C., Rachel Comey, Farm Tactics, Save Khaki and many more. It's all going down in the basement of Blossom in Silver Lake (the invite, above, has the full details). The sale starts at 11am but expect many bargain hunters to line up much, much earlier than that.
