LA's Trina Turk Asks Fans to Design the Perfect Fall Pattern

Crowdsourcing is trending this season. Following Whitney Port's fan funding request for her spring 2013 fashion show, LA-based designer Trina Turk wants you to dream up a signature pattern for her fall 2013 collection.

Per Mashable, the designer teamed up with community-based design platform Threadless to launch the contest. The winner will receive "$2,000 in cash, a $2,000 Trina Turk gift card, a $500 Threadless gift certificate and any pieces from the Fall collection that feature the winning print."

Check out the video above to hear Turk's design dos and don'ts (yes to patterns that have a "very bold, strong graphic feeling" and no to anything "murky, muddy" or "tiny and ditzy") and submit your pattern here by August 23rd.
