Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Josh Reed has had quite the fun ride. He has served as director of men's pr and talent for Calvin Klein; represented heavy hitters like Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Orlando Bloom at Todd Shemarya Artists; and worked as the men's director of pr at Gilt Groupe. Reed's currently the CEO of Gents, a company he founded that is launching in October. Those details are still hush hush, but we got him to spill on something else: his favorite vintage shop on La Brea.

"When I first moved to LA, I had been living in New York City for 12 years. I had a new house to completely redecorate and I really wanted to transition to an LA aesthetic. I came by Nick Metropolis as I was shopping the furniture stores on La Brea in West Hollywood. Amongst the old Hollywood signs, collectibles and artwork there are so many amazing finds like vintage mirrors, leather furniture and wooden pieces. Everything is very well-priced, high-quality and original. Most importantly, the shop's pieces compliment the architecture here from the '20s and '30s. The first thing that I ever bought here was a beautiful curved black leather bench with flat gold studs that sits at the base of my bed. It reminds me of the spirit of Los Angeles every time I look at it or lie on it."
