Where Stevie Wonder's Stylist Shops in DTLA

Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Sam Russell has been in Los Angeles for over 13 years and has kept himself busy styling the likes of Stevie Wonder, Chuck Lorre, Sophia Bush and John Hamm. We asked him where he shops and he filled us in on a DTLA vintage mecca.

"Haute Olive is a new thrift boutique run by model/singer Amara Wilson (she used to date Mr. Big from Sex & The City). I knew she looked familiar to me as she was the former manager of Sirens and Sailors in Silverlake. She has the eye of wardrobe stylist in Paris and her store feels like you are in Brooklyn. To the untrained eye you might imagine you've entered an average small funky vintage clothing shop—but look again. Those vintage clothes just came in from Poland and some of LA's hottest designers are represented here. Amara handpicks every piece with world class style."
