Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Stylist Djuna Bel has lent a fashionable eye to magazines like Elle, i-D, Bullet and L'Uomo Vogue. She fills us in on Painted Bird, her favorite spot in Silver Lake.
"My current favorite (and I am a little afraid to give it away) is Silver Lake vintage mecca Painted Bird. Owner Sunny Walker has the store so well curated that it's a one-stop-shop for affordable vintage. I don't know anywhere else in LA where I could score authentic, broken-in band tees for $40, perfect leather jackets for $60 and vintage brogues for $25. Sunny's boyfriend and co-owner Nate Archer also stocks the store with some amazing obscure records (which also means great jams while you shop). And there's never a crowd."
