When Crybaby Presents hit the LA scene last year, we knew that the migrating art, fashion and design gallery was onto something great. Local stylesetters continue to swoon over the concept label's clever pop-up shops, which are filled with their namesake gear along with hard-to-find designer threads and bric-a-brac. Now that founders Dakota Solt and Lisa Ziven have thoroughly established themselves as cult fashion heros, they're venturing into the mainstream.
This Saturday from 8pm to 12am, Crybaby Presents will unleash a unique collaboration with iconic sneaker manufacturer Vans at the Bootleg Theater in Silver Lake. They've customized 200 Vans Classic products that will be given away at the event and, sadly, won't be sold anywhere else. Solt and Ziven tricked out kicks, T-shirts and totes inspired by retro imagery from the "Monterey Pop Festival, Venice Beach surf culture, mod textiles, student activism and a little anarchy," the designers note.
In addition to free gear for 200 lucky partygoers, the Vans LA bash will feature a DJ set by Kisses and performances by IAMSOUND Records label mates, Papa and Yacht. Click through the gallery for a taste of Crybaby's covetable party favors and RSVP here to secure your spot at the event.
