Two notable LA boutiques are headed to Dallas, reports WWD. Both TenOverSix and Traffic will be opening in the city's downtown neighborhood near Neiman Marcus in February.

The expansion is the work of Dallas money man Tim Headington, who is adding space onto his popular boutique hotel Joule to accommodate the shops. There are plans for Traffic men's and women's stores, a TenOverSix and a TenOverSix Presents, which is being described as "a hybrid sundries shop and gift gallery."

Traffic owner Michael Moldovan describes the current retail scene in Dallas as "Cucinelli everywhere and black, gray or beige. It looked like 1984," while TenOverSix's Kristen Lee is a little more generous, saying "the Dallas customer seems to be very sophisticated." Only time will tell how the stores, with their mix of Rick Owens, Comme des Garçons, Vivienne Westwood, Rachel Comey, Vena Cava, Kenzo and more, will perform in Texas.
