Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Pascal Mouawad's name seems to be everywhere these days. The designer is the founder of Glamhouse, a company where artists and celebrities are given the opportunity to create jewelry collections under their own label while receiving Mouawad's guidance and expertise. Since Glamhouse's inception, the jewelry expert has worked with fashion icons and famous faces like Nicole Richie, Kim Kardashian, Andrea Lieberman, Erin Wasson, Jermaine Dupri and Jessica Simpson. Naturally, we wanted to find out where he likes to shop. As it turns out, Downtown LA is one of his favorite destinations.

"I shop at the top clothing boutiques in Los Angeles including Barneys and Varvatos for classic pieces, but one spot I always stop by when needing something special is Stanton James, an underground boutique in the Arts District of Downtown LA. This hidden gem specializes in independent designers and has great T-shirts and jackets—essentials for a high-profile man's wardrobe. Amongst all of the great clothing is a section where you can also pick up an exclusive accessory or two."
