Gain entrance to The Doll Factory, a big, bunker-like compound home to Los Angeles' all-female roller derby team the Derby Dolls, walk past their darkened rink and you'll enter a lofty space filled with tables piled with makeup. This is Stila's big warehouse sale, their first to be held in the summer, and it's plenty rewarding.
Racked dropped in for a preview just an hour ago and found a ton of goodies for $10 and under. Most items were just $6; the supply includes lip gloss, lip liner, lip glaze, eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyeshadow palettes, smudge pots, convertible color, cover-up sticks, primer, foundation, mascara, brushes, nail polish, and much, much more. Whew. The most expensive item was a "Makeup Player" filled with makeup for $25. There are just hundreds and hundreds of products available, including special collaborations with the likes of Yigal Azrouël and Roxy.
We spoke with a Stila representative on-site who told us that although the sale opens at 8am tomorrow, Stila super-fans typically start lining up as early as 3am. There are plans for a early-morning food truck to feed hungry sale goers and once the gates open, people will be allowed in to shop in groups so it doesn't get too nuts. Park on the street, bring your game face and get ready to rumble shop!
