Following in the footsteps of Kelly Wearstler and Rodarte, designer Jonathan Adler popped by Santa Monica College to partake in the KCRW (89.9FM) Guest DJ Project. The LA public radio station's popular weekly show offers listeners fresh insight on film and fashion notables by asking guest deejays to curate individual playlists and provide live commentary on their selections. Not surprisingly, Adler's music mix is fueled with stylish nostalgia.
Hosted by KCRW DJ Anne Litt, Adler started today's set with "Pull Up To The Bumper" by Grace Jones, noting that the iconic singer's sound and style spoke to his "burgeoning sensibility" as a teenager. "I felt as if I could sort of see and taste and feel Andy Warhol’s factory," he tells Litt. Keeping listeners on their toes, the eclectic playlist also featured jams from Public Enemy, Lenny Kravitz and Madonna. Check out the playlist and download the podcast here.
