Louis Vuitton is betting on a big new partnership with reclusive, near mythical avant-garde Japanese pop artist Yayoi Kusama. The luxury brand has covered its New York and London flagship stores with dots in honor of the spot-happy collaboration, which is available starting today in select markets and will be arriving at the Beverly Hills store on July 19th.
Our friends over at Handbag Honey did some reconnaissance and picked up some pricing info:
"This first installment offers two handbag styles, the Papillon and the Lock It. The Lock It is priced at $3,650. The polka dot patent leather collar and cuff are considerably less at $1,700 and $1,200, respectively, but still? Those of us in the 99%, who just want a little piece of the collection, may be able to afford the plastic bangles, which are priced at $465 for the large bangle and $385 for the small bangle."According to a salesperson at the store, they do not yet know which pieces they'll be getting from the collection, but they are definitely going to be stocking some of it. The window displays will be Yayoi Kusama-influenced as well, but don't expect them to look anything like this.
