Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Nilou Ghodsi is the owner of high-end women's boutique Heist on Abbot Kinney in Venice, a store she opened almost eight years ago. She stocks wares from in-demand designers like Isabel Marant, Derek Lam and Vanessa Bruno and she often buys furniture for her store from Denmark50, which she then will sell to inquiring customers. A one-stop shop? Ghodsi nails it.

"I'm obsessed with mid-century modern furniture and need another Finn Juhl chair like I need a bullet in my head but that doesn't stop me from heading to Denmark50 on Melrose at least once a month. The owner lets me loose on a scavenger hunt in the back, where they have tons of gems piled on top of one another waiting to be resurrected to pristine condition. Everything I've purchased there has been a great investment...I once bought a Hans Wegner Papa Bear chair and ottoman for my store, which I eventually ended up selling for a nice profit because I had so many people inquire about it."
