This month is chock-full of art events. Following the announcement of two new Helmut Newton exhibits in LA and the current Herb Ritts retrospective at the Getty Center, the Getty Villa is getting in on the action with a unique weekly show.

Starting tomorrow through most weekends in June, swing by the picturesque museum's Education Courtyard to witness Roman Runway—the Getty's salute to ancient Rome fashion. Per the release, the free event will feature members from a "historial reenactment group" (how does one get into that?) called Legio VI Victrix and they'll "demonstrate how garments reflected Roman values, socioeconomic class, and historical changes during the Roman Empire." If you're the hands-on type, after the show guests are welcomed to go backstage to try on costumes and meet with a Roman ornatrix aka hairdresser. Finally you can nail that Caesar haircut you've always wanted!

Catch Roman Runway June 9-10, June 23-24, and June 30-July 1. Two shows run each day—one from 11am to 1pm and one from 3pm to 5pm. You need a ticket for the free event, so reserve your spot by calling 310-440-7300 or by clicking "Get free tickets to the Getty Villa" here.
