Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

American Apparel is again cleaning out its DTLA factory with a big old sale. The markdowns, which will be up to 90% off, kick off this Friday at 9am; the sale will be open 9am to 9pm daily. Expect to find regular American Apparel clothes and accessories as well as one-offs, samples and slightly damaged items. They'll be taking credit cards and cash and, per their Facebook posting, "inventory will be constantly replenished throughout the sale but get there early!" If you want a full rundown of what to expect, click on over to our review of their last Factory sale in October.
