LeBron loves his Nike+ sneakers
Nike is coming out with a new line of performance sneakers, and LA residents are invited to take them for a spin today in DTLA. The athleticwear brand has taken over Nokia Plaza at Olympic and Figueroa for the afternoon to show the techy new sneakers in action. Their new Nike+ line, set to drop in stores and online June 29th, collects data like how many steps you've taken or, for basketball players, your vertical.
They've set up several obstacle courses and basketball courts where you can try out the shoes; there will also be a dunk contest at 6:30pm (we hear that entry is open) featuring some of LA's top local talents like Young Hollywood, Airdogg, Jonesy, Reemix and Jus Fly. If you take part, prepare to have all your stats broadcasted on big leaderboards surrounding the space. The event goes from 3:30 to 8pm.
