While our city certainly offers an endless amount of skincare, nail and hair havens for all your beautification needs, there are few establishments that house these services all in one place. Kinara Skin Care Clinic and Spa in WeHo does just that, which is why A-lister Halle Berry has been a loyal patron for over 10 years.
Founded in 2001 by renowned facialist and skincare expert Olga Lorencin-Northup (who Berry calls "Wonder Woman"), Kinara features a hair studio to create the perfect wedding blowout or updo, a nail service center for that VIP mani/pedi, a waxing and tanning studio, a variety of body scrubs, wraps and massages, and a serious selection of facials—their claim to fame. Read on to learn more about Olga's famous client, Olga's bridal skincare tips and an exclusive offer, just for you.
What did you think about Halle Berry's Kinara shout-out in Elle?
"I love Halle! She's too kind. She has an amazing disposition and although she's extremely beautiful and knowledgable, she allows me to do my job and follows my skincare suggestions. She is also not obsessed with her physical beauty, which is very unusual for a celebrity! Halle believes in graceful aging and taking care of yourself."
What type of facial should a bride-to-be get prior to her wedding?
"The Red Carpet Oxygenating Hydra Facial would be my highest recommendation. This is a very aggressive facial, with minimum side effects. For somebody with an uneven or unclear complexion, I would do two to three treatments, three or four month prior to the big date. If you have normal/dry skin and want to just spruce it up for that extra glow, get a facial one week prior if you've never had one before or one day prior if you get regular facials."
Do you have any preventive tips or solutions for last-minute skin emergencies?
"If you are stressed and start breaking out, use a mild-medium strength toner with Salicylic Acid. I recommend Kinara Re-Balancing Tonic. Soak it on a pad and apply like a mask on your face. If you don't have the time or money for a professional treatment, do a home version at least one week prior. We recommend our take-home Red Carpet Facial Kit.
When you are testing makeup artists, your face will inevitably be exposed to a ton of products, so to avoid breakouts make sure you thoroughly cleanse your skin in-between applications. And if you trust the foundation that you regularly use, give that to the makeup artist instead to play it safe."
Last but not least, what is your biggest bridal beauty don't?
"First and foremost, don't experiment—this is not a good time to listen to your friends! Go for the professional opinion to ensure your skin is in tip-top shape on the most important day of your life."
