The LA Times couldn't get Fred Segal on the phone to discuss yesterday's blockbuster acquisition news, but he was able to reach other members of the Segal family. On the matter of selling the Fred Segal brand to NY firm Sandow Media, granddaughter Kirsten Segal, who heads the store's marketing and PR, said "We had a connection, and it felt right, so it was the right time.
