Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Kate Albrecht is the owner, designer, stylist, interior decorator, cook, blogger, host, DIYer, crafter, frugalista, environmental activist and opinionated personality behind Mr. Kate, her lifestyle brand that also encompasses a line of jewelry that she launched in 2009. Known for her "pumped up kicks," Albrecht filled us in on her favorite source for shoes in the Beverly Center. As you can see in the above photo, she certainly has a thing for statement-making footwear!
"Shiekh Shoes in the Beverly Center Mall is a diamond in the rough! You wouldn't think that a store at a mall is obscure, but most fashionistas would pass it by at first glance because it looks like a typical mall sneaker store. Don't do that! Go inside to find the most fun dress up shoes like spiked wedges and booties and color-blocked peep-toes. I've gotten five pairs of shoes from Shiekh—because they often have a buy one pair, get the second pair half off promotion and since most start at $60 per pair, it's a great deal! Whenever I wear my kooky shoe finds from Shiekh I get loads of compliments and then looks of disbelief when I say where they're from!"
