Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Kayleen McAdams spends her days as a celebrity makeup artist, making sure that ladies and gents like Sofia Vergara, Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgård look red-carpet ready. While she moved to LA from Toronto nearly five years ago, she's still learning how to best navigate this big, vast city. One place she's happily located is The Runway Outlet, a spot in Silver Lake to score seriously discounted designer goodies.
"The Runway Outlet is next door to my nail place so I end up stopping in often. The store sells one-of-a-kind samples and current season overstock, all by LA designers. Having moved here a few years ago from Canada, it was a good way to become more acquainted with local designers and brands. The owner is helpful and makes the experience personal, taking the time to pick out items she thinks would work best for your shape, size and style. I always pop my head in to see what's new and come out with a bunch of different fun pieces. But best of all, I have purchased pieces here that I used to pay full price for at Barneys!"
