AlleyCat Trade is not your average online boutique. Founded by LA native Joanna Scapa in the summer of July 2010 and established last September, the avid traveler strives to provide both Angelenos and national shoppers with a curated collection of hard-to-find clothing, footwear and accessories that represent the best of international talent. Here, Scapa tells us all about her Down Under crush, her current store favorites and the five blogs that keep her inspired.
Alice McCall, Bec & Bridge, Shakuhachi—you really dig Aussie designers. What draws you to them?
"I am obsessed with Australia as a whole! There is so much young, unknown, fresh talent there. They are so innovative in there designs and style."
What five pieces in your e-shop are you currently obsessed with?
"Alice McCall's Ditton Park dress, Dieppa Restrepo's Coca Colo rose-gold loafers, Iosselliani's gold plated earrings with multi-colored stones, Emm Kuo's Calle Bahia red bag and Timo Weiland's pleated shirt dress."
What brands are on your inventory wish list?
"Acne, Golden Goose, The Row."
Do you have any blogs in heavy rotation?
"Racked LA (obviously!), I Wanna Be Gwyneth, Tastespotting, Refinery29 and Wear to Click."
