Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

April Luca is the COO of DNA Events, a company that has produced galas, soirees and killer parties for clients like HBO, America's Next Top Model, Access Hollywood and more. When she's not working, she loves filling her home with pieces from J.F Chen.
"My dear friend introduced me to her uncle, Joel Chen, of J.F. Chen, and since then, furniture shopping in LA has become an amazing adventure. They have the best selection of unique, hand-picked antiques and furniture. Many of these items few people have seen. I'm always on the go producing events, so I love, after a long day, coming back to a home that's been decorated with many remarkable pieces from J.F. Chen. It is my sanctuary. Joel has been in business for over forty years and is an industry secret. Shoppers need an appointment and must be part of the interior design trade in order to visit this sprawling three-story warehouse spanning 40,000-square-feet. In order to give the general public accessibility to peruse and purchase from Joel's amazing selection, a new space has been recently opened across the street. It is called C Project. I'm obsessed with both spots."
