While sorting through vintage tees, antique hutches, costume jewelry and other rusty and not so rusty bits and bobs at this weekend's Rose Bowl Flea Market, you might come across a vendor that will look, well, a little out of place. That vendor will be Macy's, who is en route to Pasadena right now as part of a nationwide flea market tour to promote its clothing brand Bar III. Helping them navigate the oftentimes overwhelming Rose Bowl Flea will be local style blogger Aimee Song of Song of Style, who has been tapped as the flea market tour's "flea fashion ambassador." You really don't see that title often enough on resumes.
The Macy's tent, which will be large and done in black and white, will offer shoppers a "futuristic, modish" dressing room to try on its Bar III clothing, which will be available in a full size run for both men and women. They'll also have jewelry and some home items for sale. The department store is trying out a new purchasing procedure: shoppers will be rung up on an iPad and their purchases will be shipped for free. If only all flea market shopping was so painless.
