Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
A collection of shops described as a "retail incubator" will be opening in Palm Springs on Thursday, April 19th, and WeHo's Alpha will be among the stores popping up. Located in the Palm Springs Design District at 830 North Palm Drive (which formerly housed Design Within Reach), Raymond | Lawrence will offer housewares, furniture, clothes for men and women, accessories, textiles, shoes and more, along with a café and a newsstand.
Alpha's Darren Gold, who sent us the announcement, describes Raymond | Lawrence as "Fred Segal in the desert." Other participants will include Crate of California, Made 2 Measure Fashion, sOUP Home and Royale Projects. Gold will have news about the future of his space on Melrose Avenue next week.
