Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

In February of 2010, Teresa Sung and her husband launched Doctrine Jeans, a line of denim that's both understated and classic. Here, Sung fills us in on Lake Boutique, her favorite pit stop in Silver Lake.
"I love stopping by Lake Boutique, a cozy boutique in Silver Lake. They carry an edited selection from brands like Isabel Marant, Rag & Bone, Maison Scotch and others that are bohemian-inspired and very much on-trend. I like the fact that they don't offer a large assortment of items as it's easy to select the best-of-the-best without investing too much time. Especially since I'm always in on-the-go mode, it's very easy for me to stop and shop without venturing all the way to Beverly Hills. Also, if you like to bargain, sometimes you can catch the owners at a good time and negotiate a deal...especially on those high-end items. After shopping, I like to pick up a cappuccino from the café next door."
