Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
West Hollywood mainstay Alpha just shuttered, but their storefront won't sit empty for long. Apt2B, an LA-based online-only furnishings shop, will be moving into the space at 8654 Melrose for the month of May.
The pop-up, which opens May 1st, will be curated by Frank Harker of HGTV’s Design On A Dime. In addition to seeing the site's housewares—furniture, kitchen items, rugs, lamps, bedding, etc—IRL, shoppers will be able to sort through Apt2B's unglamorously named "Trash Chute" section for "overstocked, discontinued and sample items at up to 70% off."
