If you're not up to speed with your Canadian dramas, The L.A. Complex is a popular series that premiered on Toronto-based channel MuchMusic earlier this year. The hour-long show, which chronicles the lives of six attractive twentysomething Canadian expats trying to make it in Hollywood, was recently picked up by America's The CW for its The Hills meets Gossip Girl appeal.

Hollywood Life landed an exclusive interview with the show's star and former Degrassi cast member, Cassie Steele. She breaks down each character for the site, describing her own Abby Vargas as "a hot mess." Connor Lake is the quintessential hot guy and Vargas' proposed love interest. Nick Wagner is the token geek armed with a wicked sense of humor. Tariq Muhammad and Kaldrick King have the most interesting story lines. Alicia Lowe is a dancer seemingly lured by the adult entertainment world and Raquel Westbrook is considered old news in the group because she's approaching 30.
