Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Nitrolicious, a blogger we've come to rely on for any and all H&M info (she's a superfan), surprises us today with post detailing her visit to J Brand's massive DTLA factory and office.
There's a ton of snaps of denim in various stages plus a look at the company's archive room, where they store every style of jean ever produced. Writes Nitro: "The factory was quite an eyeopener, so big that I’d think I’ll need a GPS to get around it and each section has its own department in charge of cutting, dying, sewing on the pocket, stitching the signature J, packaging, shipping, etc." Click through if you've ever wondered at the birthing process for a pair of Love Storys or skinnies.
