Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

For years, Los Angeles-based interior designer Alison Blumenfeld had been wondering when her friend Scotti would start her own shop. Blumenfeld's prayers were recently answered when Scotti opened Garde, a Beverly Boulevard boutique that has everything for Blumenfeld's Hollywood Hills home that she never knew it needed.
"For years, my friend Scotti has been threatening to open a shop, and thankfully she finally did. Located right on the Beverly design corridor, Garde has a wonderfully curated selection of gifts set in a Belgian minimalist interior. Everything in the store is beautiful and has an artisanal story. As soon as I stepped inside, I was determined to stay until I had touched and seen everything. I plan to buy the one-of-a-kind patterned alpaca throws for a client, a Kelly green scarf for a friend, white ceramic boxes as hostess gifts and maybe a set of wonderful black-and-white leather-bound runners for myself. I can't wait to go back for more."
