French brands are really feeling LA. On the heels of news that Isabel Marant is planning to open a store here this year and that A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou wants to expand his LA empire with a Venice outpost comes a tidbit from Elle about The Kooples. According to Elle blogger Britt Aboutaleb, a sales clerk in the Paris store said that the brand was looking to open US stores in both NYC and LA in the next few months.
The Kooples may not be as well-known as A.P.C. or Isabel Marant, but the label is beloved in fashion circles for its chic, classic pieces and its ad campaigns featuring real-life couples. Hopefully we'll see a few more French labels—Maje? Sandro?—following in their footsteps.
