Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Azature has been described as the "Black Diamond King." The premier black-diamond-focused designer is dedicated to providing his customers with high-quality, conflict-free gems. When he's not decorating the necks of Hollywood favorites like Scarlett Johanson, Miley Cyrus, and Megan Fox, or working on his just-launched collection of exclusive chocolate made from wild cocoa bean (mmm), you can catch him perusing sunglasses at his favorite spot for intricate eyewear, Strand Optical.
"There is a hidden gem that only a few know about in Beverly Hills called Strand Optical and it’s run as a small sunglass and reading glass atelier by Kevork since 1979 in a mysterious and very private location. Being in the fine jewelry business, I always love finding rare and well-made pieces just like black diamonds, precious gems, and fine jewelry. Kevork carries vintage Dunhill sunglasses that I simply cannot get enough of. There is no one in the world that delivers the same quality and attention to detail like Kevork does—not to mention the fact that he reminds me of my grandfather. Being so close to my family, I love popping by Strand Optical and taking in the wisdom and knowledge that he provides every time I’m in his store."
