Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We were lucky enough to preview Rachel Pally's blowout sale at 2301 East 7th Street last night and we have to say, Pally fans will really be pleased with this one. The event, being held in the designer's massive warehouse, is almost overwhelming in its offerings. There are shelves and shelves full of Pally's incredibly flattering, sexy and comfy tanks, leggings, skirts, pants and dresses of all sorts, and racks upon racks of the same. The best way to approach the matter might be to have an idea of what silhouette or style you're interested in, then have the staff guide you to its whereabouts. Plus-size gals, there's plenty of White Label apparel for you, too—we spotted most of it to the far left of the checkout table.
Regarding pricing, we decided against reproducing the entire price list because it was literally ten pages long, but here is a rough estimate of what you'll be spending. Long dresses (including Pally's in-demand caftan) are typically $115 while short dresses range from $85 to $90. Tops average $60, skirts $65 and pants $75. There is a rack of majorly discounted stuff from seasons far past for $25 to $75. They're taking credit cards, but not AmEx. Last note: The dressing room's communal, so wear whatever underwear you feel comfortable showing off to your fellow shoppers.
