Barneys Warehouse Sale Update: For Women, Few Gems Remain

As soon as the Barneys Warehouse Sale opened on Saturday morning, it was immediately ransacked. We were stunned by the speed of our fellow shoppers, who went nuts over the women's shoe, bag and clothing sections. In the span of an hour, the women's sections were emptied out. But there was a bit of hope for those who didn't make it in the first day: Salespeople promised two additional shipments over the course of the sale. Today, an intrepid Racked tipster sends word that pickings are slim, but there are still a few deals to be had. Her report:

I went at lunch time today and the add'l markdowns were as follows: SHOES (men and women) - 25%, WOMEN'S DESIGNER - 50%, WOMEN'S RTW - 40%, WOMEN'S CASUAL PANTS - 50%, JEANS - 40%, MEN'S - 40%, CHELSEA PASSAGE & AS IS - 60%, ACCESSORIES - 25% but this might be higher b/c I think the sign was old.

Hardly any women's selection left, not surprisingly. One rack of designer and about three racks of RTW. There were a few okay pieces—a couple Isabel Marant items (lots of that red ruffle top), that one Haider Ackermann leather jacket in khaki/black, some random Alex Wang pieces and a lot of meh labels I've never heard of. Of the few shoes that remain, there are some good finds and if it goes to 50% off, there are a couple Alex Wang sandal booties, Givenchy boots, Balenciaga shooties and Jean Michel Cazabat that I want BAD.

All in all, it's kind of not worth it to go unless you're in the neighborhood or have the time.
