While the clothing presented at Kate Spade's NYFW show certainly felt really, really French, the beauty definitely added to the look's je ne sais quoi. We thought the models' glowing skin, smokey eyes and rosy lips felt very Jane Birkin, and were thrilled to learn that the face was made by one of our favorite LA-based beauty brands, Jouer Cosmetics. Learn how Jouer's head makeup artist Neil Scibelli created the look and click through our gallery for some backstage snaps.

“I wanted to create a smokey eye that was wearable and easy to achieve. The concept was all about drawing definition to the eyes in a way that was still chic and classic, but with more of an edge. First, I used Jouer's amaretto powdered eye shadow on the lower part of the lid. Next, I blended cappuccino shadow in the crease for added definition. To complete the smokey effect, I lined the top and bottom eye lids with our noir eye definer and smudged it out with our eye definer brush. I finished the look by applying a few coats of noir mascara.

For an even and dewy complexion, I used Jouer's luminizing moisture tint all over and then applied a pop of our orchid tint on the cheeks and lips for a natural flush of color.“
