Introducing Racked's New Sites, Plans for World Domination

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're insanely pleased to announce that today marks the arrival of three new Racked city sites: Racked Boston, Racked Philly, and Racked San Francisco.

In Boston, former Karmaloop editor Susie Kostaras will show off the many things the city has to offer beyond Newbury Street. In Philadelphia, Julie Davis, recently of DailyCandy and The Feast, will report on style happenings from the 'burbs to Center City. And in San Francisco, Kristen Philipkoski, onetime tech reporter for Wired and the woman behind local blog Stylenik, will uncover the best insider shopping knowledge in the City by the Bay.

Each one of these towns is chock-full of cool little boutiques, up-and-coming indie designers, and tons of local flavor, and we're thrilled to add them to a Racked roster that already includes NYC, LA, and Chicago.

With this launch, we've doubled the number of Racked local sites, which brings us to an even bigger announcement: Racked is officially expanding. Sure, New York might be the center of the U.S. fashion industry, and the internet might be where the entire nation secretly browses sweaters in the middle of the workday, but that doesn't mean the rest of the country doesn't have a story to tell. Over the next year, we hope to introduce even more sites shedding light on the best fashion and retail in major American cities, catching up with our sibling sites Eater (23 local blogs) and Curbed (12 local blogs.)

If your reaction to this news is "Come to my city!" then we'd like to hear from you. Right now, we're looking for editors in DC, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Seattle, and Las Vegas, but we're certainly open to suggestions. Are you obsessed with stores, trends, sales, and local fashion news? Do you have the journalism chops to cover them all on a day-to-day basis? In other words, are you a blogger with a shopping problem, or a shopper with a blogging problem? Then let us enable you! Please send a resume and a paragraph or two about why you're right for the position to jobs@racked.com. (No attachments, please.) If we like what we see, we'll respond quickly.
