LA's eyewear scene is on the rise. From Oliver Peoples's retro-cool shades to L.A. Eyeworks' iconic frames to top of the line sunnies shops all over town, four eyes have never looked so good. Looking to tap into what they call our city's "important eyewear movement" are married duo José Castellanos and Elena Orestano, who just opened their first West Coast Dr. York Optical boutique on West 3rd Street.

After opening their debut Dr. York shop in Mexico City, their instant cult following inspired them to head to Los Angeles and create a haven for independent eyewear fiends. Boasting a wide selection of hard-to-find eyewear from across the globe, the quaint 600-square-foot space contains a highly-curated range of frames from French, Italian, German and American designers, such as Caroline Abram, Whiteout & Glare, Res Rei, Blue Magic Eye, Oscar Magnuson and Finest Seven.

Another must-see feature is their generous array of vintage eyewear, which include '50s Ray Bans, '60s Persols and ''80s Christian Dior, ready for you to channel your inner Rachel Zoe.

Dr. York Optical is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm and Sunday from 12 to 5pm.
