TOMS on Abbot Kinney Welcomes Venetians, Laptop Workers

Tees, sweatshirts, sunglasses, boots, heels, sandals and their iconic fabric flats—the new TOMS flagship, set to open Friday on Abbot Kinney, has it all. LAist previewed the shop earlier this week and found a mix of goods and signage explaining the brand's philanthropic principles as well as a coffee bar well stocked with pastries and magazines to read while you sip.

Blogger Lauren Lloyd reports being "wowed by every detail" of the shop, from the rustic decor by Commune Design to the welcoming nature of the in-house cafe. Unlike the perpetually jammed Intelligentsia down the street, TOMS will offer outlets (as well as wifi and lots of seating) for laptop-lugging workers. Founder Blake Mycoskie said of the opening, "We are so excited to be back home in Venice, where we started TOMS a little over six years ago. We're really hoping that people not only see this as a place to shop, but a place to come hang out, enjoy a cup of coffee, grab a small bite to eat, and just enjoy Venice."
