It was around this time last year that we caught wind of 585 Boardriders, a Venice concept shop opened by the surfer dudes at Quiksilver. They tricked out a 6,000-square-foot space at 585 Venice Boulevard and loaded it up with boards, wetsuits and clothes for men and women. A surf shop in Venice? What could go wrong?
Well, neighborhood blogger Yo! Venice has just reported that for reasons undisclosed, the store is closing on Sunday. Stop by today from 3 to 8pm for a "free beer and wine party" as well as discounts of 20% off "hard goods" and 40% off clothes by Quiksilver, Roxy and DC brands. Bye 585 Boardriders, we hardly knew you.
