Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This morning's DTLA sample sale madness culminated with A.L.C. in the Cooper Building's Lobby J. As promised, star stylist Andrea Lieberman's second LA sample sale offered up to 70% off pre-fall, fall and summer 2012 items, as well as a few key 2011 threads.

Although Phillip Lim's first-ever sample sale was brimming with savvy shoppers in the same building, there wasn't a drought in stylish bargain hunters here. In-the-know folks beelined to the plentiful sweater options, which were going for $100 (heavy knits), $80 (lightweight) and $60 (short-sleeve). There was also a table dedicated to $40 lightweight knit samples that featured a variety of prints and colors.

Additional hot-ticket items include $20 basic tees in neutral hues, $600 kangaroo/leather jackets, $350 fitted leather jackets, $120 floor-grazing silk gowns, $200 leather trousers, $80 paisley printed blouses and $150 tan leather skirts . There's even a damaged items rack with not-so-damaged, easily mendable items for $30 a pop.

Note that you'll have to check in your bag upon arrival. Although cash and credit are both accepted, they're allowing cash-only customers to cut the line, so there's that. The sale ends at 4pm today and runs tomorrow too, so go, go, go now!
