The official debut of DTLA's CityTarget is October 14th, but per a press release that just landed in the Racked Inbox, the retailer will be hosting a ribbon-cutting celebration for the media Tuesday, October 9th. Attending the festivities will be politicos Antonio Villaraigosa and Jose Huizar, Target execs and the guest of honor, Bullseye, Target's bull terrier mascot.
Target's already making friendly overtures to the Downtown community. Today, as on the past few Fridays, they've been handing out free lemonade at the Fig @ 7th Farmer's Market. When it opens, the store will offer "an edited assortment of Target merchandise, including apparel, accessories and home products, as well as household basics and unique items suited for urban lifestyles." There will also be an in-house Starbucks.
