There are salons that focus exclusively on blowouts, spray tanning and eyebrow shaping, so why not hair masks? Enter TheBroot, which claims to be the first ever hair treatment bar.
The salon, which soft-opened Friday in Santa Monica and officially opens on Monday, is the brainchild of Bellacures entrepreneur Samira Asemanfar. Treatments, $35 apiece (or $25 to go) are organic and made up of ingredients that could be pulled from your kitchen at home. The menu of services includes the "Strength & Shine" (banana, egg, oils, honey), the "Maintenance & Shine" (mayo, egg, honey) and the "Softness & Shine" (avocado, egg, oils, honey). After relaxing with a mask, guests have their hair rinsed and can either leave with it braided or can blow it out at Broot hair-drying stations. If you're interested in trying a treatment, they're taking appointments online or by phone at (310) 230-5317.
