Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

After eight years of working in the fashion industry, Shannon Wollack started her own company, Life.Style. by Shannon Wollack. Its mission is to bring style into clients' everyday lives through personal shopping, interior design, event planning and more. An avid shopper, Wollack told us about her favorite spot in the Brentwood Country Mart for charming cards.
"As much as I am attached to my iPhone and emails, I still value the tradition of a handwritten note and beautiful paper products. Sugar Paper opened its doors in 2003 and that's when my love affair began with the store, the products and its custom stationery. They offer a chic selection of gift cards and luxurious paper products that are timeless, fresh and individual. I frequent the Brentwood Country Mart a few times a week and always end up leaving with a Sugar Paper bag in hand. Visiting the store throughout the years—and working on custom stationery designs—I quickly became friends with the owners, Chelsea and Jamie. Both the girls have a fantastic eye for detail and are incredibly true to their timeless identity."
