Luxury Jones designer Niki Dimitras knows how to throw a party; her Spring 2013 presentation, the last of the day at the Carondelet House, roused the crowd almost immediately. Models danced down the catwalk to hip hop music while showgoers used every Apple product imaginable to document the event.
The collection was a mix of day and night-time-friendly dresses and separates, heavy on bright colors and fringe. We couldn't help but focus, though, on the signature Luxury Jones boots worn by many of the models. Incorporated everything from leather straps to braided fabrics to belts, Dimitras' boho, more-is-more vintage reworks are super-appealing.
The show ended, just as it had begun, on an upbeat note. The last model down the runway playfully threw confetti to signify the finale—then, to applause and cheers, Dimitras took her walk.—Catherine Wright
