If one of your New Year's resolutions is to find more ways to support local talent, then we have the perfect project to jumpstart your initiative: the Los Angeles Fashion Council has created a Kickstarter campaign to raise $10,000 to send five LA-based fashion designers to London next month, where they'll present their work in a three-day showcase. The four pre-selected designers are Alana Hale, Mila Hermanovski, Bryan Hearns, and Curly V, and the fifth designer will be chosen "through a Facebook contest and subsequent panel decision," LAFC founders Devon Poer and Kelsi Smith explain.
So far, 29 backers have pledged a total of $1,100, which means that LAFC has to raise a hefty $8,900 to reach their funding goal by next Tuesday, January 10. To encourage donations, the designers are sending actual pieces from their collections to top backers, so click here to donate and show your support!
