Another West 3rd Street gem has fallen prey to the seven-year storefront itch, and we should have seen it coming. Following in the footsteps of fellow 2005-born boutique EM & Co., Hillary Rush is officially shuttering on March 1. That explains why the store has been hooking up 50% off everything for the past few weeks, and will do so through February.
According to a recent press release, Rush explains that although the West 3rd Street location is packing up, her brand isn't going away and will in fact evolve into a "larger web brand and an eventual opening on the East Coast." In Western Massachusetts, to be exact:
"I will be based in the Berkshires for the opening of a Hillary Rush store and the creation of an HR MAN shop within Church Street Trading Company, itself a 20 year old store and brand which is now evolving into what we have named 'A 21st Century Marketplace.' I will be the buyer and co-owner with Bob Rush."
After some heavy Facebook stalking on the Church Street Trading Company page, it looks like the MA retail space has already started promoting Rush and even shares some of her inventory, so the deal is pretty much sealed. We'll miss you, Hill.
