Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

LA-based stylist Kris Zero split her time between New York and France growing up, which helped her to develop a global sense of taste and style. She's worked for publications like V, Muse, Teen Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and on campaigns for everyone from Tom Ford to Nike. When she's not busy dressing Hollywood's tastemakers in red carpet-worthy frocks, she heads over to Choke Motorcyle Shop, an East Hollywood mechanic shop that also produces, according to Kris, the best limited-edition dungarees.
"I was first introduced to Choke Motorcycle Shop by a photographer friend who brought me there to have coffee. At the time, they had set up a coffee and espresso bar. Jeff, the owner, had made an espresso machine. It was a moped shop, packed with coffee drinkers and pinball players. It smelled of oil and gas, and I thought, ‘WOW! Those jeans are awesome’. You really can't find better jeans anywhere. The super handsome mechanic finds vintage selvage denim remnants and turns them into lasting dungarees. They usually do runs of around 35 pairs and cost 88 bucks each. While you're inside, you can treat yourself to a cold beverage or spend your parking meter money playing Evil Knievel pinball."
