Apparel News dives deep into the story of Groceries Apparel, a line of organic basics out of LA that's angling to be an eco-friendly American Apparel of sorts. The founders, both 29, were inspired by "the vertical production of American Apparel, the eco-friendly ethos and full transparency of production practices of Patagonia, and local sourcing by Whole Foods." In 2011 they produced $1 million in shirts and shipped them to more than 200 retailers. [Apparel News]
