Partying for a Cause with Pennyroyal at Confederacy

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last Thursday, Confederacy joined forces with LA jewelry designers Pennyroyal to throw a party benefiting Therasurf, a nonprofit devoted to providing special needs kids with the healing, therapeutic experience of surfing. Pennyroyal is all up in the philanthropy -- in addition to creating jewelry expressly for this cause, they also just finished up on a collaboration with Adam Lambert, on behalf of The Trevor Project.

Naturally, the Therasurf pendants (and the party) had a nautical theme -- the special pendant is appropriate for a rockin' mariner. Longboards and special Therasurf artwork served as the decor. The store even featured a special, beach-themed capsule collection of Band of Outsiders polos.

As usual, the fete was attended by stylish Confederacy crew, family and friends, including Ilaria Urbaniti, Chris and Danny Masterson, Krysten Ritter, Benjamin Bratt, and Talisa Soto. But for us, the real stars of the night were sitting on shelves, next door -- i.e., all the Rebecca Minkoff lovelies.

Confederacy offers a pretty encyclopedic Rebecca Minkoff experience: Morning After Bags is every conceivable color and finish; ready to wear, shoes and small accessories. And by our calculations, a lot of it is on sale, at up to 40% off. Click through our gallery to see a few of the items we were all hot and bothered for. And to purchase one of the pendants and do a really, really good deed, visit the Pennyroyal website.
